Principal Software Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Remote within Canada; no regular attendance at a GM worksite is expected unless directed by the manager.

Salary: CAD 186,000–236,000 per year.

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership across software initiatives and functional responsibilities.
• Collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams.
• Develop and communicate technical visions and strategies, including presentations.
• Introduce new methods and initiatives where procedures are not yet defined.
• Identify and remove roadblocks and resolve potential issues.
• Mentor colleagues and provide technical guidance.

Requirements

• Principal-level software engineering experience.
• Ability to provide technical leadership and work effectively across teams.
• Experience developing strategies and approaches for ambiguous initiatives.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and mentoring skills.
• Must be based in Canada.
