Head of FP&A

Location: El Segundo, California, United States; onsite. Minimal travel to other CHAOS offices may be required.

Salary: $190,000–$250,000 annual base salary, excluding bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead the corporate long-range financial model and scenario planning across revenue, operating expenses, headcount, cash, and funding.
• Own the company-wide annual planning and rolling forecast processes, calendars, and consolidation of program-level cost forecasts.
• Prepare board, investor, and executive materials, including analysis, financial narratives, recommendations, and talking points.
• Build and scale finance partnering across functional portfolios and collaborate on pricing, deal economics, margin analysis, and growth planning.
• Own the Datarails reporting platform strategy, architecture, data feeds, dimensions, and self-service reporting.
• Support capital strategy and fundraising while managing and developing the FP&A team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience; an advanced degree is preferred.
• Experience leading an FP&A function or serving as its clear second-in-command at a high-growth company through a major stage transition.
• Experience building board and investor materials end to end, including financial narratives and recommendations.
• Experience designing long-range financial models and scenario frameworks covering revenue, operating expenses, cash, and funding needs.
• Experience running company-wide annual planning and rolling forecasts across multiple budget owners.
• Experience administering a corporate planning platform and managing direct reports.

Nice to have

• Experience in hardware, manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or another capital-intensive industry.
• Experience supporting venture or growth-stage fundraising, including scenario models and sources-and-uses analysis.
• Experience with program finance or government-contracting cost structures.
• Hands-on Datarails experience.
