Principal Software Architect

Location: Chantilly, VA, United States; on-site

Salary: $275,000–$285,000 per year

What you will do

• Provide architectural oversight for new and enhanced products, including architectural models, component specifications, and interface documentation.
• Define architectural visions, evaluate alternative approaches, and validate system designs against complex requirements.
• Design, research, and develop advanced applications that create new product and business opportunities.
• Lead technical capture efforts through proofs of concept, capability briefings, and technical contributions to new business development.
• Integrate complex components developed by distributed teams and advise departments on high-level technical decisions.
• Lead planning analysts conducting technical research and supporting user groups.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI security clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 12+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Recognized expertise in designing and developing highly advanced software applications.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical capture efforts and delivering capability briefings.
• Extensive proficiency in architectural modeling, component and interface specification, and research and development.
• Ability to work independently on highly complex projects and obtain and maintain security clearance as required by the mission.

Nice to have

• Experience with Databricks, Spark, or similar cloud-based analytics platforms.
• Experience with GitLab, Jira, Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices architecture.
• Experience architecting solutions for the Department of Defense or Intelligence Community.
• Experience identifying and prototyping emerging technologies for government missions.
