Senior Director, Hardware & Vehicle Development (Robotics)

Salary: $320,000–$400,000 USD annually, plus potential equity grants.

What you will do

• Own engineering, manufacturing, and field service for the autonomous robot platform.
• Lead the hardware lifecycle from detailed product engineering through volume manufacturing and field operations.
• Select and manage contract manufacturing partners through production ramp.
• Build the hardware organization, define the hiring plan, and recruit key technical leaders.
• Partner with autonomy, product, and operations teams to translate system requirements into hardware and manufacturing decisions.
• Drive cost reduction, operational efficiency, scale milestones, and robot-level profitability.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in hardware, automotive, or a closely related field.
• 4–5 years of experience leading a hardware organization at Senior Director or VP level.
• Experience taking a hardware program from early development through volume manufacturing.
• Experience building hardware products and developing new processes from the ground up.
• Track record of building high-performing teams and attracting exceptional talent.
• Experience selecting and managing contract manufacturers from selection through production ramp.
