Technical & Application Consultant (Pharmaceutical Chemical Industry)

Salary: $85,000–$130,000 per year plus commissions

What you will do

• Identify customer needs and develop technical business opportunities across pre- and post-sale activities.
• Partner with Account Managers to create site penetration plans, micro-campaigns, and regional growth strategies.
• Generate, qualify, and advance opportunities for AutoChem products, software, and services through technical consultation.
• Provide customer support through visits, seminars, training, technical consultations, and application feasibility testing.
• Maintain expertise in AutoChem offerings, competitive technologies, and complementary solutions.
• Translate application findings, industrial experience, and technical literature into actionable product management input.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Process Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field; a PhD is preferred.
• At least five years of experience in chemical R&D within the pharmaceutical chemical industry.
• Experience in process development, crystallization, particle characterization, or related chemistry and chemical engineering disciplines.
• Experience supporting pharmaceutical, biotechnology, specialty chemical, or related industries.
• Experience collaborating with sales teams and managing time-sensitive projects independently.
• Strong analytical, creative, assertive, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Process Analytical Technology for particle processes and laboratory-to-manufacturing scale-up.
• PhD, MBA, or another business degree.
• SAP experience.
