CAM Programmer (CNC)

Location: Canada; work is performed at Smiths locations, including offices and manufacturing plants.

What you will do

• Program multi-axis CNC milling and turning machines, as well as lathes, drills, and other equipment.
• Check and adjust solid models for CAM requirements and create or edit CNC programs.
• Customize and develop CAD/CAM applications using Solid Edge and Edgecam.
• Optimize tooling selection and support machining process development.
• Resolve programming issues on the shop floor and contribute to process optimization.
• Manage work orders, revisions, and related programming activities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of turning and milling programming experience using CAD/CAM software.
• Knowledge of Edgecam and Solid Edge.
• Experience with machining, process development, work-order management, and revision control.
• English proficiency required for reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension.
• Ability to work in office, manufacturing plant, warehouse, and customer-site environments and meet physical requirements, including lifting and mobility.
