Safety Manager

Location: Onsite in St. Louis, Missouri, USA; frequent evening, occasional holiday, and weekend work may be required, with travel as necessary.

What you will do

• Advise line management and site personnel on HSE requirements and operational safety practices.
• Develop, execute, and measure HSE plans, policies, procedures, initiatives, and campaigns.
• Conduct audits and inspections, identify hazards, and monitor compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Investigate incidents and accidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions with operations and clients.
• Manage safety training programs and promote safety culture among employees and subcontractors.
• Track leading and lagging indicators, benchmark performance, and provide monthly reports to senior management.

Requirements

• Strong HSE background in industrial construction, maintenance, and turnarounds.
• Strong understanding of process safety in theory and practical application.
• Experience with incident and emergency management.
• Strong communication, influencing, and change management skills.
• Ability to develop a strong safety culture and improve safety behaviors across teams and contracted companies.
• Ability to work onsite in St. Louis and travel as required; a background check, occupational physical, and drug screening are required.

Nice to have

• Safety certifications such as COSS, COHS, or CHST.
