HSE Site Officer (CHST)

Location: Must be based in Charlotte, NC, US (Onsite at customer construction site).

What you will do

• Implement and enforce Health & Safety Plans, risk assessments, and EM 385-1-1 standards.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and coordinate safety committee activities.
• Maintain OSHA logs, hazardous chemical lists, and corrective action tracking systems.
• Investigate accidents and incidents using root cause analysis.
• Provide site-specific health, safety, and environmental training to personnel.
• Support internal and external audits to ensure OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 compliance.

Requirements

• Must have CHST or CSP certification per government requirements.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Safety Supervisor with updated education per EM 385-1-1.
• Must have experience with USACE or government construction projects.
• Completion of 30-hour OSHA course (4 years validity) plus 40 additional hours of training.
• University degree in Health and Safety or equivalent.
• Experience working in unionized environments and heavy industry construction sites.

Nice to have

• Additional certifications in OSHA 510, 500, BCSP, or ASP.
• Experience working on hydropower plant construction projects.
