Distinguished Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: United States of America; remote-first environment

Base pay range: $285,000–$352,500 per year.

What you will do

• Design, evolve, and steward core platform architectures for scalability, reliability, and long-term resilience.
• Set architectural direction and technical strategy for critical distributed systems supporting multiple products and teams.
• Lead cross-team initiatives with Engineering, Product, Infrastructure, Security, and Compliance.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship while improving system design quality and engineering rigor.
• Identify and resolve technical debt, architectural risks, systemic bottlenecks, and complex cross-service issues.
• Shape engineering-wide practices in observability, reliability, performance, developer experience, and technical standards.

Requirements

• 15+ years of software engineering experience.
• Deep expertise designing and operating large-scale distributed systems and highly available platforms.
• Experience setting long-term technical direction and making pragmatic, high-impact execution decisions.
• Exceptional system design, debugging, observability, reliability, and performance engineering skills.
• Strong cross-functional influence beyond an immediate team.

Nice to have

• Experience building internal developer platforms or broadly adopted shared services.
• Experience in regulated, compliance-heavy, or security-sensitive environments.
• Experience shaping engineering-wide practices, tools, or standards as a recognized technical leader.
