Director of Engineering (Fintech)

Location: New York, NY, United States. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship and must be able to start work in the U.S. on the first day.

Salary: $214,000–$335,000 annual base salary, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and grow a multidisciplinary engineering organization serving institutional clients.
• Set engineering goals, operational metrics, delivery standards, and team practices.
• Define technical vision and coordinate delivery across institutional products and investor solutions.
• Partner with Product, Design, and go-to-market stakeholders to prioritize and execute roadmaps.
• Guide scalable, secure, and resilient architecture aligned with institutional compliance requirements.
• Drive Agile development, automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and observability practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of engineering leadership experience managing managers, architects, and software engineers.
• Experience delivering enterprise or institutional software platforms with stringent security, regulatory, and uptime requirements.
• Strong knowledge of cloud architecture, microservices, API design, data pipelines, and enterprise security frameworks.
• 5+ years of experience with financial risk frameworks and asset management in a SaaS environment or financial institution.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship is required.
