Salary: $300,000–$350,000 base salary, plus equity and leadership bonus programs.

What you will do

• Lead an approximately 30-person engineering, infrastructure, and security organization through a period of organizational and business change.
• Build engineering maturity across architecture, coding standards, CloudOps, GitOps, monitoring, alerting, and observability.
• Own the security function, including audits, compliance readiness, application hardening, and incident response.
• Set the technical direction for distributed cloud backends, database scaling, API architecture, payment internals, and secure third-party integrations.
• Apply practical AI and agentic security strategies while connecting technology decisions to cost and business value.
• Prepare the organization for sell-side diligence and communicate technical decisions clearly to internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Experience leading a company through a sale on the sell side, including hands-on diligence preparation.
• Experience building observability, alerting, and security systems from near-ground-zero and directly leading security functions.
• Hands-on experience with agentic AI development and practical applications of AI.
• Background in distributed cloud backends, database scaling, API architecture, payment systems, and secure integrations; primarily mobile or frontend experience is not suitable.
• Strong judgment in scalable architecture, FinOps, SDLC rigor, and operational security.
• Must be based in the United States for remote work; hybrid work is available in Pasadena, California.
