Tax Processing Associate (Sales Tax)

Location: Remote USA

Salary: $56,900–$74,000 base salary annually, with potential eligibility for bonuses, commissions, and equity grants.

What you will do

• Prepare an average of 600+ sales and use tax returns monthly for level 1–2 clients.
• Review client tax data, investigate discrepancies, and take corrective action.
• Format and import monthly tax data into hirify.global Indirect Tax Returns software.
• Process electronic tax filings and payments, including online filings, notices, and tax authority communications.
• Communicate with clients by phone and email and maintain accurate compliance reports and documentation.
• Collaborate with senior tax processing staff, participate in mentoring, and provide informal peer support.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in accounting, business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 2–5 years of experience in tax processing, accounting, or business.
• Familiarity with standard tax compliance regulations for level 1–2 clients.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft tools.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, time management, communication, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently on routine tasks and collaboratively with a team, including additional hours during peak processing periods from the 5th through the 20th of each month.
