Senior Network Engineer (Industrial AI Cloud)

Senior Network Engineer (Industrial AI Cloud): Building and automating the network platform for a sovereign industrial AI cloud serving European manufacturers, with an accent on InfiniBand, Ethernet/RoCE, firewalls, routing, and observability. Location: Remote work is available only within Slovakia; the office location is Košice.

Salary: Negotiable gross base salary from €1,850 per month, depending on seniority and experience, plus variable compensation and other financial benefits.

What you will do

• Build, provision, operate, and continuously improve network components including switches, firewalls, routers, and border gateways.
• Manage high-speed InfiniBand and Ethernet/RoCE network fabrics, including installations, upgrades, firmware updates, interconnections, and documentation.
• Develop automation scripts and workflows for configuration management, testing, releases, deployment, optimization, and standardization.
• Maintain monitoring, observability, patching, firmware, configuration backups, and operational runbooks.
• Follow and improve ITIL incident, problem, and change management processes while supporting zero-outage operations and on-call activities.
• Coordinate with data center, IaaS, PaaS, platform, and AI solution teams; provide customer consultancy and mentor colleagues.

Requirements

• Senior-level experience in network installation, maintenance, and operations.
• Experience with NVIDIA/Mellanox switches, UFM, data center routing, BGP, OSPF, ASNs, IP transit, peering, and failover connectivity.
• Experience with Linux networking and administration, Cumulus OS, Ubuntu or Debian, bridges, bonds, VLANs, and routing tables.
• Experience with FortiGate firewalls, security policies, NAT, VPNs, IDS/IPS, HA, segmentation, DDoS mitigation, and zero-trust networking.
• Programming and automation experience with Go, Python, Bash, Ansible, SaltStack, Terraform, Helm, Git, and CI/CD tools.
• English at B2 level is required; familiarity with InfiniBand, RoCE, AI/HPC networking, SDN, monitoring, NOC/SOC operations, and on-call models.
