Asset Servicing Team Leader

Asset Servicing Team Leader (Corporate Actions): Leading the Corporate Actions Processing team in delivering accurate, timely and compliant processing for mandatory and voluntary events with an accent on operational controls, regulatory compliance and customer outcomes. Focus on developing a high-performing team, managing time-critical market deadlines, resolving complex events and driving automation and continuous improvement.

Location: Manchester, UK; hybrid working with a minimum of 60% of working time per month in the office. New starters initially work full-time from the office.

Salary: Starting from £35,000 per year, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Lead, coach and develop the Corporate Actions Processing team in a regulated, deadline-driven environment.
• Oversee mandatory, voluntary and mandatory-with-options events, including entitlement calculations, elections, customer notifications and payments.
• Act as the final technical escalation point for complex events, high-value elections and unclear market practices.
• Plan resources, manage intraday queues and ensure service levels are met across custodian and international market deadlines.
• Maintain first-line risk and compliance controls, including FCA, CASS, Consumer Duty and tax reporting requirements.
• Present management information, support system and process changes, improve automation and deputise for the Asset Servicing Manager.

Requirements

• At least four years of financial services experience in asset servicing, corporate actions or custody operations.
• Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams through coaching, KPIs, quality frameworks and structured development.
• Detailed knowledge of corporate action events, market infrastructure, settlement, taxation, entitlement calculations and election management.
• Working knowledge of UK and international market practice, including CREST, custody chains and FCA requirements.
• Experience operating controls, investigating root causes, implementing corrective actions and managing operational risk.
• Strong analytical, communication, judgement and prioritisation skills, with advanced Excel capability and experience working across multiple systems.

Nice to have

• Experience with Power BI or equivalent reporting tools.
• Experience with non-Microsoft or bespoke employer systems.
• CISI Investment Operations Certificate or willingness to work towards a relevant qualification.
