Middle Accountant (Gaming)

hirify.global is a global commerce company that helps video game developers fund, distribute, market, and monetize games as a merchant of record.

What you will do

• Own full-cycle bookkeeping for hirify.global Berlin GmbH, including bank transactions, accounts payable processing, and journal entries.
• Prepare monthly trial balances, supporting schedules, fixed asset entries, accruals, provisions, and payroll-related accounting entries.
• Manage intercompany accounting and reconciliations across multinational group entities.
• Maintain compliance with German GAAP, HGB, GoBD, and invoice documentation requirements under §14 UStG.
• Prepare VAT and corporate income tax returns, annual financial statements, and documentation for tax advisors and auditors.
• Support the migration from DATEV to NetSuite and respond to requests from internal audit, group reporting, and external consultants.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on accounting or bookkeeping experience, including independent ownership of a company’s full accounting function.
• Experience preparing and filing German VAT and corporate income tax returns and preparing annual financial statements.
• Strong knowledge of German GAAP, HGB, GoBD, German VAT fundamentals, and invoice compliance.
• Practical DATEV experience; NetSuite experience or the ability to learn it quickly during migration.
• Experience with intercompany reconciliations, high-volume bank transactions, accounts payable, month-end close, and audit support.
• Fluent German and English, with strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.

Nice to have

• Bilanzbuchhalter (IHK) qualification or equivalent practical experience.
