Salary: $253,120–$379,680 USD base salary per year in California, plus potential annual bonus and equity compensation.

What you will do

  • Lead a team of experts developing multi-object tracking, road-property estimation, pre-collision assist, and automatic emergency braking functionality.
  • Analyze system performance and research literature to design state-of-the-art modular and end-to-end machine learning solutions.
  • Collaborate with roboticists, machine learning engineers, scientists, systems engineering, and product management.
  • Integrate, deploy, and productionize state-estimation models for vehicle autonomy systems.
  • Investigate failures, define verification and validation cases, and move concepts into mass production.
  • Contribute as a senior technical leader to next-generation autonomy systems and the Ford Large Driving Model.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field with 10+ years of relevant experience; alternatively, a master’s degree with 8+ years or a PhD with 5+ years.
  • Experience developing and shipping learned multi-object tracking systems.
  • Experience with classical state-estimation methods, including Kalman and particle filters.
  • Significant experience with Python and/or C++, computer vision, perception, and machine learning.
  • Experience shipping machine-learning-based computer vision solutions using PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, or similar frameworks.
  • Must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States.

Nice to have

  • PhD focused on machine learning or equivalent experience.
  • Experience shipping end-to-end computer vision systems.
