ICare Consultant to Support with Global Country Workshop (Data & Analytics)

Location: Home-based in Italy; duty station Florence. Contract duration: 3 months.

What you will do

• Prepare, deliver, and coordinate follow-up for an in-person country workshop on ICare implementation.
• Support the rollout of the International Classification of Alternative Care of Children within national statistical systems.
• Facilitate discussions with government, statistical, child protection, and social service stakeholders.
• Contribute international research and evidence on alternative care, child protection systems, and children’s rights.
• Coordinate deliverables, stakeholder relationships, and timelines within the Data and Analytics Section.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Public Health, Psychology, Social Work, or a related social science field.
• At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience conducting international research in child protection and/or children’s rights.
• Fluent English required.
• Experience working with stakeholders on care reform, child protection systems, and social service workforce strengthening.
• Experience planning, delivering, and facilitating workshops with multistakeholder groups.
• Knowledge of international frameworks and guidelines related to alternative care, including ICare, plus strong written, interpersonal, and time-management skills.

Nice to have

• Intermediate skills in a second official UN language.
• Experience working in multicultural environments and building effective relationships with international partners.
