Distributed Systems Engineer (AdTech)

Location: Poland; 100% remote work or access to office spaces in Warsaw and Krakow.

What you will do

• Design and program modules for a real-time bidding system handling over 24 million requests per second with latency below 50 ms.
• Optimize software for response time and resource consumption while ensuring reliability and scalability.
• Create performance and correctness tests for new system components.
• Evaluate technologies for production use and develop monitoring and diagnostic tools.
• Analyze production behavior and continuously improve existing tools and processes.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of complex IT systems across hardware, software, and algorithmic layers.
• Proficiency in programming and knowledge of Internet protocols including DNS, HTTP, and cookies.
• Experience with concurrency, distributed systems, high scalability, and high availability.
• Ability to monitor production systems and analyze and resolve performance problems.
• Background in computer science, algorithmic complexity, and system architecture through a formal degree, competitive programming, or equivalent experience.
• C1 English and C1 Polish proficiency.

Nice to have

• Experience with Java, Python, Aerospike, Memcached, GCP, BigQuery, MinIO, Kafka, ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Jenkins, or Graphite.
