What you will do
- Investigate fundamental questions in membrane protein biology.
- Study the structural and functional mechanisms of transmembrane proteins and endogenous macromolecular signaling complexes.
- Apply cryo-EM, endogenous purification, and functional reconstitution approaches in recombinant and endogenous systems.
- Design, execute, and troubleshoot complex biochemical and structural biology workflows.
- Collaborate with and academic laboratories and present research at conferences.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in structural biology, biochemistry, biophysics, or a related field.
- First-author publication record in high-impact journals.
- Required experience expressing and purifying challenging proteins.
- Required experience preparing samples, collecting data, and processing data for single-particle cryo-EM and/or X-ray crystallography.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in writing and orally.
- Strong collaborative skills for advancing research projects.
Nice to have
- Experience expressing and purifying membrane proteins.
- Experience reconstituting membrane proteins in liposomes or nanodiscs and establishing functional transport or signaling assays.
- Experience isolating endogenous complexes from tissues or cell lines.
- Experience with mammalian cell culture, heterologous expression, or cellular functional assays.
