What you will do

• Contribute to C development for the Endless Lifecycle Support team.
• Backport security patches and updates to Linux distributions beyond their official end of life.
• Read, review, validate, and troubleshoot C and systems code across different environments.
• Write clean, efficient, maintainable code and effective unit tests.
• Participate in code reviews and collaborate with experienced developers.
• Learn AI-assisted development workflows across research, backporting, testing, and code review.

Requirements

• Basic C programming and debugging skills.
• Experience with Git, patch and branch management, GNU/Linux CLI, and shell scripting.
• Basic experience building the Linux kernel and troubleshooting related issues.
• Solid fundamentals in algorithms and data structures, with the ability to reason about systems code.
• English proficiency at B1 level or above for frequent written communication.
• Final-year student or entry-level engineer who is self-directed and eager to learn; comfortable using AI coding assistants and identifying incorrect output.
