PCIe Senior/Lead Software Engineer

Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada

Salary: CAD 120,000–195,000 base pay annually across Canada, with potential bonuses and equity.

What you will do

• Bring up PCIe links on new hardware designs and tune parameters across root ports, bridges, and endpoints.
• Modify Linux PCI drivers and virtual memory allocation for networking hardware.
• Use AER and DPC to improve PCIe error visibility and system resiliency.
• Develop userspace software connecting networking ASICs, FPGAs, and PCIe bridges.
• Measure hardware read and write performance and troubleshoot low-level firmware issues.
• Build automated feature-validation tests in C, C++, and Python.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience with C or C++.
• Strong engineering and computer science fundamentals.
• Solid understanding of PCIe hardware and software drivers.
• Experience with PCIe switches and low-level firmware diagnostics.
• Hands-on experience diagnosing problems, troubleshooting issues, and fixing bugs in firmware.

Nice to have

• Python experience.
• Knowledge of PCIe state machines, LTSSM, TLP, and credit flow control.
