Expert/Principal Software Engineer (Linux/C++)

Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada

Salary: CAD 140,000–210,000 base pay annually across Canada, plus potential discretionary bonuses and equity.

What you will do

• Write functional and design specifications for Linux hardware drivers and device-management APIs.
• Implement EOS and related system software using C, C++, and Python.
• Design automated test plans, develop test programs, and debug failures.
• Build and troubleshoot networking infrastructure, including distributed systems and AI networking.
• Analyze customer and system-test issues and deliver software releases or patches.
• Review implementations, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate project schedules with technical leads.

Requirements

• BS with 12+ years, MS with 10+ years, PhD with 7+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of C, C++, Python, Linux system software, and open-source software.
• Experience writing Linux drivers and APIs for hardware or software resource management.
• Experience programming ASICs and custom hardware.
• Understanding of IPC mechanisms, distributed systems, messaging, databases, command-line interfaces, and networking infrastructure.
• Ability to independently design, implement, test, troubleshoot, and deliver software solutions.
