SoC Emulation Engineer

Location: On-site in San Jose, California, United States. Relocation support is available for candidates moving to San Jose.

Salary: $150,000–$275,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Oversee SoC bring-up on emulation platforms and diagnose failing SoC and processor tests.
• Develop automated build, regression, CI, and Git-based workflows for reproducible pre-silicon validation.
• Support Palladium, Protium, Veloce, ZeBu, HAPS, and other emulation environments using C/C++ DPI transactors, coverage analysis, and in-circuit emulation.
• Build debugging infrastructure that captures signals and surfaces actionable insights.
• Implement hybrid emulation environments with DPI-based streaming transactors and configurable chip-to-chip network models.
• Collaborate with Design, DV, Silicon Validation, Performance, Software, and emulation vendor teams.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with emulation platform bring-up, build flows, debugging, and performance tuning.
• Strong C/C++ and Linux systems development skills.
• Proficiency with SystemVerilog and Verilog, including DPI-based interfaces.
• Experience with Git-based development workflows and Python scripting for automation and flow development.
• Ability to work fully in person in San Jose.

Nice to have

• Experience with UVM, design verification, DFT, and testbench modeling.
• Familiarity with Verdi or SimVision waveform debugging tools.
• Experience with SLURM or similar schedulers for large emulation workloads.
• Experience applying Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar CI/CD tools to hardware validation.
