Embedded Software Developer - New Grad (C/C++)

Annual pay range: CAD 68,800–109,800

What you will do

• Design, implement, debug, and maintain embedded software for routers, switches, and optical transport systems.
• Develop software using C/C++ and Python.
• Design and maintain graphical user interfaces for networking products.
• Participate in requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, documentation, and other stages of the software development lifecycle.
• Develop and execute unit, integration, and system tests to improve software quality and reliability.
• Analyze technical issues and contribute to code reviews, design discussions, and architectural planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Previous internship, co-op, or relevant applied project experience.
• Proficiency in C/C++ programming for embedded systems.
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design principles.
• Familiarity with Ethernet, TCP/IP, MPLS, OSPF, or BGP networking protocols.
• Experience with debugging tools such as JTAG or GDB and version control systems such as Git.

Nice to have

• Experience with embedded Linux, RTOS concepts, device drivers, hardware bring-up, or board validation.
• Familiarity with bootloaders, firmware update mechanisms, SPI, I2C, UART, or GPIO.
