Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, or remote within the United States. The position may be subject to verification of residence, U.S. person status, citizenship status, and U.S. export-control restrictions.

What you will do
- Design and implement high-throughput, low-latency logging frameworks for telemetry, event, and console data.
- Develop features, interfaces, and performance optimizations for Clockwork, Stack’s robotics middleware.
- Improve the performance, reliability, usability, and resource efficiency of foundational vehicle software.
- Prototype, develop, and maintain sensor interfaces supporting autonomous vehicle perception.
- Collaborate with Autonomy, Cloud, and Safety teams across vehicle, simulation, cloud, and HIL environments.
- Ensure software quality through automated testing, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in C++ with deep knowledge of multithreading, concurrency models, lock-free data structures, and memory management.
- Experience developing high-performance software for resource-constrained environments, preferably safety-critical systems.
- Strong knowledge of POSIX, Linux, concurrent programming, and networking fundamentals.
- Comfort debugging embedded systems and using tools such as Bazel and Boost.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycles and algorithm design principles.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative engineering environment.

- Experience with performance evaluation and optimization.
- Experience in autonomous driving, robotics, or a related industry.
