What you will do
- Take ownership of core localization stack areas including state estimation, 3D mapping, and sensor calibration.
- Contribute to the full pipeline from sensor integration and performance tuning to deployment on real hardware.
- Design and build online validation systems to monitor localization integrity and safety-critical consistency.
- Develop diagnostic tooling and health logging for post-mission analysis.
- Define regression, validation, and release-gating strategies for airport deployments.
- Iterate on autonomous system performance using real-world operational data.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in robotics or autonomous vehicles with a track record of production deployment.
- Deep practical expertise in multi-sensor fusion (LiDAR, IMU, GNSS, cameras) and state estimation.
- Strong command of non-linear optimization (Ceres, GTSAM, g2o) and filtering techniques (EKF, UKF).
- Proficiency in modern C++ (C++17+), Linux, and ROS/ROS2.
- Demonstrated technical leadership in driving architecture and solving complex estimation problems.
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Robotics, or related engineering field.
Nice to have
- MS or PhD focusing on localization, state estimation, or calibration.
- Hands-on experience with intrinsic, extrinsic, and temporal multi-sensor calibration.
- Experience with factor graphs, graph-based SLAM, or tools like GLIM, LIO-SAM, and Cartographer.
- Background in building safety-relevant monitoring architectures for autonomous systems.
