Salary: $130,000–$195,000 per year
Company
is a design house delivering connected consumer electronics and IoT products through in-house engineering projects, laboratories, and cross-functional technical teams.
What you will do
- Lead electrical power measurement and debug using oscilloscopes, power analyzers, electronic loads, bench supplies, NI DAQ systems, and Monsoon monitors.
- Design and execute structured characterization plans covering operating modes, workloads, sleep states, thermal conditions, peak current, battery life, and performance per watt.
- Analyze Android power and thermal behavior across framework, system services, HAL, drivers, Linux kernel, firmware, and Qualcomm platform power states.
- Correlate electrical measurements with BatteryStats, dumpsys, Perfetto, systrace, kernel traces, logcat, firmware traces, thermal data, and performance counters.
- Develop and validate power budgets, battery-life models, system power models, and energy consumption models.
- Collaborate with electrical, hardware, battery, firmware, Android, validation, and customer-facing teams during platform bring-up, EVT/DVT, factory investigations, and escalations.
Requirements
- 8+ years of embedded systems experience with a strong electrical engineering debug background.
- Direct experience with Qualcomm Snapdragon platforms, PMIC architecture, RPMh, power-collapse states, DSP subsystems, low-power modes, and Qualcomm power measurement or validation frameworks.
- Deep Android power management knowledge and strong Embedded Linux experience.
- Experience debugging Android Framework, HAL, Linux kernel, device drivers, firmware, hardware, and PMIC-related power issues.
- Strong C/C++ development skills and experience with schematics, board-level investigations, power measurement equipment, and system-level characterization.
- Experience building structured validation plans and investigating power, thermal, battery, sleep/resume, and performance-per-watt issues.
Nice to have
- Experience with complex SoCs, system-level power measurement frameworks, power models, and power budgets.
- Experience with factory, EVT/DVT, or laboratory power characterization.
- Exposure to embedded RTOS or bare-metal development.
- Proactive collaboration, ownership, adaptability, and strong problem-solving and communication skills.
