Senior Application Support Engineer (Cloud and Automation)

Location: Porto, Portugal; hybrid work. Candidates must already have the legal right to work in Europe.

What you will do

• Provide advanced production application support, investigate incidents, resolve issues, and perform root cause analysis.
• Lead high-priority incidents and coordinate resolution with development, infrastructure, and product teams.
• Improve monitoring, alerting, runbooks, standard operating procedures, and shift handovers.
• Lead or contribute to application upgrades, automation initiatives, and new application rollouts.
• Mentor junior support engineers and promote operational best practices.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule supporting critical applications 24/7, including shifts from 6:00 AM and until 7:00 PM.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience supporting enterprise applications.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux environments, application servers, middleware, and enterprise scheduling tools.
• Hands-on experience with HAProxy, Apache, IIS, Axway API Gateway, Control-M, ServiceNow, and Jira.
• Proficiency in Bash, PowerShell, and Python scripting.
• Experience with Zabbix, Grafana, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, XLDeploy, XLRelease, BitBucket, AWS, Azure, GCP, Terraform, and OpenShift.
• Fluent English at a minimum B2 level and an existing legal right to work in Europe are required.

Nice to have

• Cloud architecture or automation certifications and experience.
