TL;DR
Software Engineer (AWS/Kubernetes): Designing and enhancing customer-facing healthcare platform functionality with an accent on cloud-native architecture and platform engineering. Focus on building scalable Kubernetes-based deployments, automating CI/CD pipelines, and leveraging AI-assisted development to improve software delivery.
Location: Preferred candidates live in Lincoln, Nebraska and surrounding areas. Work from home environment may be allowed. Not hiring in DE, HI, MD, NJ, RI, D.C.
Salary: $80,000 - $116,000

What you will do
- Design and enhance customer-facing product functionality across the healthcare platform.
- Build and maintain Kubernetes-based application deployments and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to manage cloud resources.
- Optimize CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable and automated software delivery.
- Automate operational processes and create reusable infrastructure modules to improve scalability and reliability.
- Monitor production environments to improve observability, alerting, and overall operational health.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT) to accelerate delivery and improve code quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong software engineering experience developing production applications.
- Experience administering Kubernetes clusters, preferably Amazon EKS.
- Proficiency with AWS services such as RDS, IAM, S3, Route 53, ALB, and CloudWatch.
- Experience designing CI/CD pipelines and using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Demonstrated proficiency in using AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering effectiveness.
Nice to have
- Experience with GitOps tools such as Argo CD or Flux.
- Knowledge of Docker and container security.
- Experience implementing observability using Datadog, Prometheus, or Grafana.
- Linux system administration experience.
- Experience in healthcare or other highly regulated industries.
