Senior Application Developer (Java/Kafka)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Implement real-time data pipelines and messaging solutions using Apache Kafka.
• Build distributed systems ensuring fault tolerance, scalability, and high availability.
• Deploy and manage distributed applications on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, frontend developers, and DevOps.
• Establish monitoring, logging, and alerting for backend services and BPMN workflows.

Requirements

• 7 to 12 years of professional experience with strong proficiency in Java (7+).
• Extensive experience with Spring Boot and the broader Spring ecosystem.
• In-depth knowledge of Apache Kafka, including topics, partitions, offsets, and Kafka Streams.
• Experience with relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra) databases.
• Expertise in building RESTful or gRPC APIs.
• Must be based in or able to work in Plano, TX to support the hybrid schedule.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with Kafka Connect or Confluent Platform.
• Knowledge of microservices tools like Istio, Envoy, or other service mesh solutions.
• Familiarity with caching mechanisms such as Redis or Memcached.
• Exposure to monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Elasticsearch.
