Senior Plastics Process Engineer

Salary: $130,000–$145,000 per year

What you will do

• Establish and optimize injection molding parameters for new and existing molds using Scientific Molding and decoupled molding principles.
• Support daily Mold Shop operations, including production schedules, equipment maintenance, mold repair, and revision changes.
• Execute mold validations, equipment qualifications, engineering change orders, and continuous improvement projects.
• Provide technical guidance to mold technicians, operators, R&D, resin suppliers, and molding equipment vendors.
• Evaluate externally sourced plastic part designs and select injection molding machines and ancillary equipment.
• Develop departmental procedures and mentor Plastics Engineering co-ops.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience establishing injection molding parameters using Scientific Molding principles, including decoupled molding.
• Bachelor’s degree in Plastics Engineering or an equivalent curriculum.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot mold and process issues and conduct mold validations.
• Ability to explain and train others on injection molding process development and equipment functionality.
• Ability to stand, walk, move, bend, reach, stoop, and climb for extended periods and lift up to 25–50 pounds as required.
• Ability to operate tools, machinery, and technical equipment while using required PPE.

Nice to have

• Master Molder I certification.
• Master Molder II certification.
• Master’s degree in Plastics Engineering or a related field.
