What you will do

• Act as the site subject matter expert for analytical instrumentation and control systems supporting manufacturing and labs.
• Install, commission, qualify, and maintain analytical instrumentation, including HPLC and UPLC systems.
• Troubleshoot control platforms such as DeltaV, PLCs, SCADA, DCS, and LIMS to improve operational efficiency.
• Author and execute GMP documentation, including validation protocols, change controls, deviations, and CAPAs.
• Lead instrumentation and controls projects from design through implementation, managing scope, budget, and schedules.
• Mentor junior engineers and I&C technicians to strengthen overall technical capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• 4+ years of engineering experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or highly regulated manufacturing environments.
• Must be based in or able to work onsite in Research Triangle Park, NC.
• Strong knowledge of FDA GMP and EMA regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting control systems (DeltaV, PLCs, SCADA, DAS, LIMS).
• Ability to interpret control panel wiring diagrams and electrical schematics.

Nice to have

• Experience with low-voltage control panel wiring, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Experience defending engineering practices during regulatory inspections by health authorities.
• Background in reliability engineering, asset management, or continuous improvement.
• Proven track record of leading capital projects and implementing instrumentation upgrades.
