TL;DR

Lead Emission Engineer (Internal Combustion Engines/Aftertreatment): Designing, developing, and validating exhaust gas aftertreatment systems for high-efficiency engines with an accent on emissions performance, controls development, and regulatory compliance. Focus on commissioning systems at customer sites, solving complex technical challenges, and leading cross-functional product validation activities.

Location: Houston, Texas, United States; office-based role with work at customer sites and travel of up to 90% of working time. Legally authorized to work in the United States is required.

What you will do

  • Lead exhaust gas aftertreatment development, validation, commissioning, and troubleshooting at customer sites.
  • Analyze technical data and present actionable recommendations to internal stakeholders, customers, and senior management.
  • Plan validation activities, define work packages, manage timelines, and monitor project execution.
  • Resolve technical challenges and guide cross-functional engineering teams across the United States and Europe.
  • Develop product and technology improvements and contribute to intellectual property creation.
  • Support the Service Organization through technical training and specialized engineering expertise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Process Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with internal combustion engines and exhaust gas aftertreatment system development and validation.
  • Proficiency with modern engineering tools and methodologies for controls development, plus strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Hands-on ability to work on exhaust gas aftertreatment systems at customer sites.
  • Project management experience with complex performance validation tasks and cross-functional technical teams.
  • Ability to travel up to 90% of working time, with a valid driver’s license, passport, and US work authorization.

  • Experience supporting technical alignment across multiple engineering sites.
  • Experience engaging with engineering teams and headquarters in Jenbach, Austria.
