Director, Special Projects

Location: Remote within the United States. Employees near hirify.global offices may choose fully remote or hybrid work with office attendance on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Occasional business travel is required, including 1–2 trips per quarter, particularly to New York City and Washington, DC.

Salary: $80,000–$125,000 per year, adjusted based on location, experience, qualifications, and market data.

What you will do

• Act as chief of staff and strategic thought partner to the Senior Vice President, supporting prioritization, decision-making, and executive effectiveness.
• Drive cross-functional initiatives from concept through execution across psychometrics, assessment design and development, research, academic leadership engagement, and external partnerships.
• Track decisions, commitments, risks, and follow-through, escalating slippage and closing execution gaps.
• Maintain operating infrastructure including reporting tools, dashboards, goal-setting processes, and performance reviews for divisional leadership.
• Lead leadership meetings, divisional meetings, in-person convenings, and leadership retreats.
• Partner with Finance and HR on budgeting, financial reviews, organizational design, headcount, talent planning, and succession initiatives.

Requirements

• Authorization to work in the United States is required.
• 5–10+ years of professional experience, ideally including strategic operations and close partnership with a senior executive.
• Bachelor’s degree and a strong record of professional achievement and leadership.
• Experience managing multiple complex cross-functional projects through influence and lateral leadership.
• Strong strategic, analytical, problem-solving, communication, facilitation, and executive judgment skills.
• Proficiency with generative AI and willingness to adopt emerging digital tools.

Nice to have

• Several years of experience in a strategic operations or chief-of-staff role.
• Experience in education, assessment, research, or other mission-driven environments.
