Lead Cloud Architect - NoSQL Databases

Location: Remote in the United States; occasional travel to hirify.global offices for training or meetings may be required.

Salary: $142,300–$195,700 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus incentive plan.

What you will do

• Define and maintain enterprise NoSQL standards, reference architectures, design patterns, and governance practices.
• Lead architecture and engineering for MongoDB, Azure Cosmos DB, Neo4j, vector databases, and related cloud platforms.
• Plan and execute platform modernization and rationalization initiatives, including Cosmos DB to MongoDB migrations.
• Design secure, highly available, scalable, and resilient database solutions across Azure and Google Cloud.
• Guide application teams on data modeling, partitioning, indexing, query optimization, monitoring, backup, and recovery.
• Lead automation, technical documentation, architecture reviews, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, data engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in cloud architecture, cloud engineering, database engineering, DevOps, or related roles.
• Strong experience with NoSQL platforms such as MongoDB, Azure Cosmos DB, Neo4j, or vector databases.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform and strong Python scripting skills.
• Experience with CI/CD, source control, infrastructure as code, configuration management, database migrations, and platform modernization.
• Knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery, security controls, compliance, operational automation, and AI-assisted engineering tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with MongoDB Atlas, Neo4j Aura, Kubernetes, cloud-native platforms, or managed database services.
• Experience with vector search, semantic search, retrieval-augmented generation, AI/ML, or recommendation workloads.
• Experience in healthcare, insurance, financial services, or other regulated industries.
• Professional certifications in cloud platforms, MongoDB, Neo4j, data engineering, or NoSQL technologies.
