Head of Engineering (Web3)

Location: Remote in Latin America; meaningful overlap with US Pacific working hours required.

What you will do

• Own and evolve the architecture across Rust services, Go infrastructure, and Next.js/TypeScript product surfaces running on Google Cloud.
• Write production code in critical services, shared libraries, complex integrations, and other high-leverage areas.
• Align multiple engineering pods on system boundaries, interfaces, data models, and non-functional requirements.
• Lead design reviews and resolve complex technical decisions across distributed, performance-sensitive systems.
• Raise standards for code review, testing, observability, CI/CD, on-call, and incident response.
• Partner with engineering managers, product, research, and leadership to mentor engineers and turn strategy into sequenced technical plans.

Requirements

• 8+ years of production software engineering experience, including 2+ years in a tech lead, staff engineer, architect, or similar engineering leadership capacity.
• Deep hands-on experience with Rust, Go, Next.js/TypeScript or Node, and Google Cloud.
• Experience designing and operating high-throughput, low-latency systems such as trading platforms, matching or order-flow systems, or real-time event pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, performance trade-offs, correctness, latency, throughput, testing, and operability.
• Experience mentoring senior engineers, growing tech leads, and influencing technical decisions through code and written design documents.
• Fluent written and spoken English, residence in Latin America, and meaningful overlap with US Pacific working hours are required.
