Senior Manager, Mixed-Signal and Systems Validation (HDD/AI ASIC)

Location: San Jose, California, United States

Annual base salary: USD 167,500–268,000, plus discretionary annual bonus and equity awards.

What you will do

• Lead and mentor validation and system integration engineers while fostering technical growth and accountability.
• Define and execute pre-silicon and post-silicon validation strategies for HDD read channels and AI ASICs.
• Lead silicon bring-up, characterization, laboratory debugging, and root-cause analysis of hardware and architectural issues.
• Develop scalable automated test infrastructure and improve validation coverage and execution efficiency.
• Manage project schedules, resources, budgets, and delivery milestones.
• Collaborate with ASIC design, architecture, firmware, and product engineering teams.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 15+ years of experience in HDD/read-channel design or validation, post-silicon validation, mixed-signal IC characterization, or systems engineering.
• 5+ years of experience managing technical engineering teams.
• Deep knowledge of HDD architectures, signal processing, read-channel technologies, and system validation.
• Strong understanding of ADCs, PLLs, continuous-time filters, feedback systems, AI/ML ASICs, and accelerators.
• Expertise in system-level testing, board-level debugging, laboratory equipment, Python or MATLAB, test automation, and silicon characterization data analysis.
