What you will do

• Design, develop, and optimize low-latency, high-throughput backend systems with Java.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices for secure payment workflows.
• Deploy, monitor, and scale services in Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, and AWS environments.
• Integrate MongoDB and other NoSQL and SQL datastores for real-time data management.
• Improve performance, fault tolerance, observability, and production reliability.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Product, and QA teams while driving architecture, engineering standards, and peer mentorship.

Requirements

• 10+ years of Java development experience focused on performance and memory optimization.
• Strong proficiency in Core Java, Spring, Spring Boot, MongoDB, and microservice architecture.
• Experience building low-latency, high-throughput applications.
• Hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift and/or Kubernetes.
• Strong AWS experience, including services such as ECS, EKS, Lambda, and S3.
• Strong communication skills and an opinionated, action-oriented approach to engineering decisions.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging systems.
• Background in payments processing, financial services, or banking systems.
• Knowledge of payment gateways, ISO 20022, or SWIFT formats.
• Experience with container security and OpenShift performance tuning.
