TL;DR

Location: Manchester, with hybrid working across company offices, client sites, and home; working from home 100% of the time is not permitted.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and resilient Java backend services and reusable components.
• Build and evolve microservices-based and distributed solutions that support business agility.
• Translate business requirements into effective technical outcomes with multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop automated testing approaches and support efficient software delivery and release management.
• Investigate production issues and implement long-term improvements to performance, reliability, and security.

Requirements

• Strong experience in enterprise application development using Java.
• Solid knowledge of object-oriented design, software engineering practices, design patterns, multithreading, concurrency, and exception handling.
• Experience developing scalable backend solutions and designing microservices-based architectures.
• Expertise in API design, development, integration, and security principles.
• Experience with resilient distributed systems and unit and integration testing.
• Ability to contribute to architecture discussions, code reviews, and agile delivery teams, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
