What you will do

• Analyse and modernise critical legacy Java services using AI-assisted code analysis, refactoring, API extraction, and migration patterns.
• Design and deliver scalable APIs and microservices with comprehensive testing, documentation, and multi-instance deployment support.
• Implement Model Context Protocol servers for service discovery, dependency mapping, and architecture compliance.
• Build AI-assisted CI/CD pipelines covering code review, security scanning, test generation, and automated remediation.
• Create reusable automation with Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, and LLM APIs.
• Document AI-first development patterns, measure productivity improvements, and train engineers during service handoffs.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with strong Java backend expertise.
• Experience modernising production systems at scale and applying service decomposition, strangler fig patterns, and legacy migration strategies.
• Strong knowledge of API design and microservices architecture.
• Hands-on experience building with Model Context Protocol and using AI development tools in production.
• Experience implementing AI in CI/CD pipelines, building agentic AI solutions, and applying prompt engineering and model selection.
• Demonstrated measurable impact from AI-assisted refactoring, testing, documentation, code analysis, or automated remediation.
