What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java (JDK 11+).
• Build features for the customer analytics platform and data processing services.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries working with MySQL and Snowflake.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, and Data Engineers to deliver new platform capabilities.
• Investigate production issues, identify root causes, and implement reliable long-term solutions.
• Drive modernization initiatives and reduce technical debt across the platform.

Requirements

• 8+ years of commercial software engineering experience.
• Must be based in the United Kingdom.
• Strong commercial Java development experience (JDK 11 or later).
• Hands-on experience with relational databases, specifically MySQL and Snowflake.
• Solid understanding of software architecture, object-oriented design principles, and data modelling.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related analytical field.

Nice to have

• Experience with Spring Boot and the wider Spring ecosystem.
• Experience working with analytics or data platforms and cloud technologies.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Experience with performance tuning and database optimization.
