WPM C4 Quality and Reliability Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: On-site in Hillsboro, Oregon, United States; living in Oregon is required. Evening meetings are required most work days, with 24x7 on-call response as part of an engineering rotation.

Annual salary: $89,010–$125,660 USD.

What you will do

• Manage internal and external customer quality issues for wafer packaging products.
• Extract and analyze data to assess risks related to suspect or non-conforming material.
• Support downstream partners with excursions, investigations, and issue resolution.
• Partner across organizations to improve quality and reliability performance, detection, containment, and end-of-line-hold and MRB inventory metrics.
• Support certification and ramp-up of new technologies from on-site and off-site development teams.
• Provide 24x7 on-call engineering support for urgent line issues, excursions, and task-force projects.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related specialized discipline.
• At least 6 months of experience or relevant industry, internship, schoolwork, or research exposure in manufacturing processes, semiconductor fabrication, and quality assessment methodologies.
• At least 6 months of experience or relevant exposure to excursion management, reliability fundamentals, or problem-solving techniques.
• At least 6 months of experience or relevant exposure to statistical analysis techniques and tools such as JMP or Minitab.
• Strong communication, collaboration, team-building, influencing, organizational, and project-planning skills.
• Ability to make technical decisions, provide technical direction, communicate technical issues and status to factory and program leadership, and work across cross-functional organizations.
• Experience in manufacturing environments or familiarity with high-volume production processes.
• Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic and changing environment.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in Engineering or Science with semiconductor foundry experience.
• Ability to write automation scripts for data extraction and analysis.
• Experience representing quality functions in engineering forums.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with a proactive approach to process optimization.
• Experience managing change control processes and continuous improvement programs.
• Familiarity with product and process reliability principles and methods.
• Knowledge of quality control systems and methodologies.
