Special Agent (Railroad Security)

Salary: $90,300–$98,500. Hiring bonus: $10,000 total, paid in two installments.

What you will do

• Protect company personnel, property, resources, and customer property.
• Conduct corporate and criminal investigations, prepare detailed reports, and provide court testimony when required.
• Identify and arrest trespassers on company property in accordance with applicable procedures.
• Patrol railroad facilities, trains, and property to prevent crime involving high-value shipments, automobiles, and intermodal freight.
• Coordinate responses to railroad emergencies and advise company officials on crime and accident prevention.
• Supervise contract security guards and train employees on relevant security and safety procedures.

Requirements

• Must be based in or be willing to relocate within 50 miles of Seattle, Washington.
• High school diploma or GED and successful completion of basic police training at a recognized state-certified academy.
• Must meet Washington peace officer commissioning standards, hold and maintain a valid state peace officer license, and meet BNSF Special Agent standards.
• At least 18 months of successful full-time experience as a peace officer with a city, county, state, federal, or railroad law enforcement agency.
• Valid driver's license, physical and psychological fitness, successful background investigation, and completion of required evaluations, training, and drug screening.
• Knowledge of railroad operations, emergency situations, criminal law and procedures, report and database systems, and the ability to lead people during stressful critical events.
