Senior Human Factors Engineer (Robotics)

Expected base salary: $144,000–$240,000 USD per year, with bonus potential and early-stage equity.

What you will do

• Lead contextual inquiry, task analysis, and usability testing based on real operational workflows.
• Design information architecture and interaction patterns for high-density orchestration and SCADA-style monitoring interfaces.
• Build and validate Figma prototypes and testable flows for simulation, laboratory, and capacity-planning UIs.
• Define human-in-the-loop workflows for supervising, intervening in, and trusting automated and AI-driven processes.
• Partner with software engineers and researchers to translate findings into specifications, reusable patterns, and design-system contributions.
• Establish accessibility and interaction standards as the platform develops.

Requirements

• 4–8 years of experience in UX research or human factors for complex operational, industrial, or scientific software.
• Experience designing high-density, high-stakes interfaces such as control rooms, monitoring dashboards, or data-heavy tools.
• Strong skills in contextual inquiry, task analysis, usability testing, information architecture, and interaction design.
• Experience prototyping in Figma or an equivalent tool.
• Ability to design for operator supervision, situational awareness, and error prevention.
• Strong cross-functional communication with software engineers and domain experts, supported by evidence-based design decisions.

Nice to have

• Human-factors experience in regulated or safety-critical domains such as aerospace, manufacturing, healthcare, or life sciences.
• Knowledge of ISO 9241-210, WCAG 2.2, ANSI/ISA-101, SCADA, or MES interfaces.
• Experience in laboratory, robotics, manufacturing, or other regulated operational environments.
• Quantitative research experience, including survey design or behavioral analytics.
• Experience designing AI-assisted or autonomous workflows.
