Company

hirify.global is a defence technology company designing, developing, and manufacturing software-defined unmanned systems for NATO Allies and their partners.

What you will do

  • Own the flight control system as a core product across multiple loitering munition and unmanned aircraft programmes.
  • Build and manage software, firmware, avionics hardware, systems engineering, product management, and integration capabilities.
  • Architect a modular flight control platform for multi-rotor, fixed-wing, and VTOL aircraft.
  • Lead SIL and HIL test environments, design verification, safety-critical flight termination systems, and FMECA activities.
  • Direct PX4-based flight software integration, control-law implementation, release management, and embedded development standards.
  • Lead avionics hardware development from requirements and PCB design through qualification, manufacturing, and programme integration.

Requirements

  • Degree in aerospace, electrical, computer engineering, robotics, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in UAV, avionics, or robotics engineering, including 2+ years in technical leadership or engineering management.
  • Strong knowledge of linear and nonlinear control theory, flight dynamics, state estimation, Kalman filters/EKF, and vehicle system identification.
  • Experience with PX4, ArduPilot, proprietary RTOS flight-control development, or real-time embedded environments.
  • Hands-on familiarity with PCB design, sensor integration, EMI/EMC mitigation, and CAN, SPI, UART, Ethernet, ARINC, or Milbus interfaces.
  • Business-fluent English and citizenship of a NATO member state with eligibility for German security clearance (Ü2/Ü3). German is useful but not required.

Nice to have

  • Experience with multi-rotor, fixed-wing, or VTOL unmanned systems.
  • Experience with DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4754A, IEC, automotive, or industrial standards.
  • Experience setting up automated HIL/SIL test benches and executing test programmes.
  • Experience with Agile hardware-software co-development, new flight-controller development, or leadership in a multi-programme organisation.

Culture & Benefits

  • Emphasis on reusable platform capabilities rather than one-off solutions.
  • Direct involvement in field activities, flight testing, and telemetry analysis.
  • Expectation of transparent risk communication and evidence-based readiness decisions.
  • Opportunity to shape the flight-control roadmap, team structure, and strategic technical decisions.
