Contract Subject Matter Expert (Government Contracts)

Location: Onsite in Reston, Virginia, United States. Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.

Salary: $100,000–$275,000 base salary per year.

What you will do

• Manage complex government contracts and prime subcontracts throughout the full acquisition lifecycle.
• Support capture and proposal activities, review terms and conditions, and analyze subcontractor flow-down requirements.
• Lead contract negotiations, change management, performance monitoring, dispute resolution, and closeout readiness.
• Develop compliant solutions and business cases for complex, strategically important programs.
• Represent the Contracts function with customers, senior leadership, and cross-functional program teams.
• Mentor junior and mid-career contracts professionals and strengthen functional capabilities across business areas.

Requirements

• 15+ years of relevant Contracts experience across prime contractor and subcontractor environments.
• Expert knowledge of FAR, DFARS, government acquisition frameworks, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with CPFF, FFP, T&M, OTA, and BOA contract types across research, development, and production programs.
• Experience negotiating disputes, compliance plans, Truthful Cost or Pricing Data Act requirements, license agreements, and intellectual property terms.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; an advanced degree may substitute for two years of experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance and work onsite in Reston, Virginia.
