Senior Director, Applied Science (AI)

Location: Hybrid role based in Lesser Poland, Poland, with responsibility across EMEA.

Salary: 533,000–799,000 PLN annually, plus annual performance bonus and long-term incentives.

What you will do

• Own AI system strategy, evaluation standards, and scientific decision-making across the agentic assistant, product insights, and AI efficiency domains.
• Lead managers, staff scientists, and principal scientists while building a strong leadership and research bench.
• Set the applied-science portfolio, investment priorities, delivery commitments, and production operating model.
• Define quality gates and institutionalize standards for reliability, robustness, calibration, consistency, and safety.
• Grow the Poland applied-science organization and strengthen collaboration with the Poland engineering team.
• Represent hirify.global's AI strategy across EMEA with executives, customers, partners, and candidates.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in computer science, a quantitative discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 8 years of experience in applied AI or machine learning, including a track record of leading teams.
• Experience delivering AI products at scale from system strategy through production operations in partnership with engineering and product organizations.
• Experience leading managers and developing scientists and managers into larger roles.
• Strong judgment in AI-system portfolios, machine-learning rigor, and production readiness decisions.
• Professional English proficiency, written and spoken, and ability to work from the Poland office in a hybrid setup.
