Junior Data Engineer (Snowflake)

Junior Data Engineer (Snowflake): Building and supporting data warehousing, ETL/ELT pipelines, business intelligence systems, and software applications for clinical research operations with an accent on dimensional data modeling, SQL development, and reporting. Location: Cincinnati, Ohio; office-based with occasional work from home available for eligible positions after training

What you will do

• Develop and support data warehousing, business intelligence, and database solutions using Snowflake, SQL Server, ANSI SQL, and T-SQL.
• Build and maintain ETL and ELT workflows with dbt, Azure Data Factory, and SSIS.
• Design, enhance, and support Microsoft Power BI business intelligence systems.
• Gather, analyze, and document user requirements and participate in the software development lifecycle.
• Validate software through test plan, test case, and test script development, review, and execution.
• Provide application support and collaborate with team members on projects, tools, and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Internship experience in data engineering or software engineering.
• Knowledge of dimensional data modeling, including Star Schema and Snowflake schema designs.
• Solid ETL development and reporting knowledge based on business processes and measures.
• Knowledge of REST APIs and basic SQL Server databases is required.
• Strong analytical, written, and oral communication skills.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Snowflake cloud data warehousing, Fivetran data integration, and dbt transformations.
• Knowledge of Python.
• Knowledge of C# and Azure development.
