What you will do

• Build the data backbone for autonomous factories, transforming machine signals and work orders into trusted data for scheduling and ML.
• Develop ingestion, CDC, and streaming capabilities for transactional data, events, and telemetry.
• Define versioned data and event contracts with upstream teams to ensure freshness, completeness, and correctness.
• Model telemetry and operational data into datasets with explicit grain, identity, and provenance.
• Own Dagster orchestration, dbt transformation, data CI/CD, and offline feature datasets for ML.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Operations to acquire data from PLCs, historians, and protocols like OPC-UA and MQTT.

Requirements

• Experience building and operating production data infrastructure or distributed data systems.
• Strong production Python, advanced SQL, and data-modeling skills.
• Experience with Kafka or other event-streaming platforms and stateful incremental pipelines.
• Expertise in Snowflake and lakehouse table formats such as Iceberg, Delta, or Hudi.
• Experience with orchestration tools (Dagster, Airflow, Argo, Prefect), dbt, and Kubernetes.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or ITAR-eligible.

Nice to have

• Experience designing hybrid warehouse and lakehouse architectures.
• Production experience with PeerDB, Debezium, Flink, Spark Structured Streaming, or Redpanda.
• Proficiency with ClickHouse or other low-latency analytical databases.
• Experience with industrial edge data collection (OPC-UA, MTConnect, MQTT, PLCs).
• Background in Go, Rust, or Scala.
