TL;DR

Business Excellence Leader, Site Operations (Lean/Six Sigma): Leading continuous improvement, cost savings, and Lean implementation across a manufacturing site with an accent on operational excellence, project management, and workforce engagement. Focus on designing improvement roadmaps, solving process and waste challenges, and sustaining measurable gains across site operations.

Location: Onsite in Opelika, Alabama, United States. Regular shift; travel to out-of-state sites of up to 15% may be required. This role does not provide immigration sponsorship or support, including the Form I-983 training plan for STEM OPT.

Salary: $78,000–$128,000 national target base pay. The California and New York metro range is $86,000–$142,000. Additional compensation may include an annual performance bonus and benefits.

What you will do

  • Own the site continuous improvement roadmap and help develop an operational excellence culture.
  • Lead Lean-based tool implementation, Kaizen events, project execution, change management, and sustainment.
  • Manage site cost, inventory, waste, and improvement savings initiatives with clear prioritization and tracking.
  • Partner with finance and industrial engineering to analyze losses, waste, operational performance, and financial metrics.
  • Support daily operations routines, corrective actions, shift handoffs, PDCA activities, and cross-functional improvement work.
  • Coach site leadership, peers, and hourly associates while influencing results without formal supervisory authority.

Requirements

  • Four-year degree in supply chain, engineering, accounting, chemistry, biology, a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • At least two to three years of post-collegiate experience, including work in a manufacturing or high-speed logistics continuous improvement environment.
  • Green Belt or higher experience with Lean and/or Six Sigma is required.
  • Experience implementing Lean/TPM tools, managing complex projects, leading improvement events, and training others.
  • Knowledge of value stream mapping, visual management, 5S, SMED, standard work, 3P, jidoka, poka-yoke, and Lean office processes.
  • Strong project management, analytical, communication, financial, and influencing skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office is required.

Nice to have

  • Consumer packaged goods or high-speed repetitive manufacturing experience.
  • Power BI development experience.
  • Knowledge of activity-based cost accounting, P&L fundamentals, and ERP tools such as JDE or Oracle.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish skills.
